Finland is one of the Nordic countries, located between Sweden and Russia. The country has a population of only 5.4 million, yet it is generally considered as one of the leading countries in the world in the fields of nationwide education, health care and technology. According to the latest research by the World Economic Forum, Finland is also one of the most competitive economies in Europe.
The capital of Finland is Helsinki, a modern city located on the coast of the Baltic Sea and home to over 600,000 residents (1.3 million in the Greater Helsinki area). Turku, the original capital of the country, is located on the southwest coast of Finland, on the shores of the famous Nordic archipelago. From Finland, you can also easily visit St. Petersburg, Tallinn and Stockholm.
